Amazon Leo + Prime? Amazon Hints at a Tie-Up, But Nothing Is Confirmed
12 October 2026, Space Internet Solutions
Amazon has given its biggest hint yet that Amazon Leo, its satellite broadband service, could one day be linked to Prime. But a hint is not a deal. Here's what was actually said.
What Amazon said
In an October 2026 interview with Ars Technica, Chris Weber, VP of business and product at Amazon Leo, said:
"There are lots of assets within Amazon that we can pair with Leo… anything from Prime to Prime Video, eero routers and extenders, Fire TV, Ring."
Weber also said he "won't get into the details". He gave no prices, markets or dates. Some reports have described this as Amazon "disclosing plans" for a Prime bundle. It isn't. No Prime bundle or discount has been officially announced.
Where Amazon Leo is now
According to Amazon's update on 8 October 2026:
More than 1,000 satellites have been built
396 have been launched
Initial service rollout is due later this year
Business and government customers come first, consumers after
Weber told Ars Technica that "the plan is to launch initial service in 2026."
What it means for the UK
Amazon's UK page says the UK will be among the first countries to get Amazon Leo, with wider rollout due in 2026. That page doesn't mention Prime, and no UK prices have been announced.
If Amazon does link Leo with Prime, Prime Video, eero or Fire TV, that could be a big draw for UK households, especially in rural areas where fixed broadband is limited. For now, it's a hint worth watching.
