Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite broadband network. Officially rebranded on November 13, 2025, it is designed to provide high-speed, low-latency internet to unserved and underserved communities globally, directly competing with SpaceX's Starlink.

Key Features and Performance

The service uses a constellation of over 3,200 satellites that orbit closer to Earth (roughly 590–630 km) than traditional geostationary satellites, which significantly reduces "lag" (latency) during tasks like video calls and gaming. Amazon has announced three terminal (antenna) tiers:

  • Leo Nano: An ultra-portable, 7-inch square terminal offering speeds up to 100 Mbps.

  • Leo Pro: A standard 11-inch square terminal for residential and small business use, offering speeds up to 400 Mbps.

  • Leo Ultra: A high-bandwidth enterprise-grade terminal (19 x 30 inches) capable of speeds up to 1 Gbps.
