Starlink V3 to launch

Starlink V3 Is Coming — And It’s a Big One

SpaceX is about to launch the first operational Starlink V3 satellites on Starship Flight 14, targeted for late September 2026. This is the biggest upgrade to the network since it began.

Each V3 satellite delivers around 1 Tbps of downlink capacity — roughly ten times a current V2 — plus 160 Gbps uplink, about twenty-two times more. They fly lower, around 350 kilometres, which cuts latency, and they carry over two thousand beams each way, so far more users can connect at once.

For customers, that means less congestion in busy areas, higher peak speeds, and a network that can finally support gigabit-tier plans as more V3 satellites come online. SpaceX has filed for up to a hundred thousand of them, and the long-term goal is more than a hundred times today’s total bandwidth. The same technology will also power the next generation of direct-to-phone service.

It’s not an overnight switch — the rollout builds over time — but the direction is clear: a faster, denser, more reliable Starlink for everyone.
